Bad Hersfeld (plaque)
Historical background
The plaque was unveiled on the 55th anniversary of the deportation of hundreds of Gypsies from Bad Hersfeld and the surrounding district to the Auschwitz death camp.
Description of commemoration
The plaque is located on the side wall of the historical town hall in Bad Hersfeld, from Weinstraße. The place where it was embedded is characteristic, because it is shaded by a huge wisteria, climbing several meters up the building.
The plaque is made of bronze and tarnished. Its appearance is quite typical – capital letters, serif font, smooth background, narrow frame equaling the height of letters protruding above the surface of the background. Inscription in German
