Hrastina Croatia
Historical background
On April 24, 1945, the Germans captured 43 German Sinti who had fled to Croatia and tried to find a hideout in a village near Zagreb. Some of the prisoners were tortured. They were all burned in the barn.
A memorial dedicated to local victims of World War II stands in Hrastin, near the church, however, it includes no information about the murdered Roma.
