Mechelen – Kazerne Dossin (plaque)
Description of commemoration
On the right from the main entrance to the building of today’s Kazerne Dossin Memorial and its Documentation Centre, there are two commemorative plaques. One dedicated to Jews – the other on the right, to the Roma and Sinti.
In 2017, the building was undergoing a renovation, so the Memorial Site and the Documentation Centre could not be accessed.
The plaque dedicated to the Gypsies is a simple stone slab, on which the inscriptions in Dutch and French are made in a simple serif typeface, caps, raised above the surface of the plaque.
