Muzeum Historii Tarnowa i Regionu – ekspozycja stała

Museum of the History of Tarnów and the Region - permanent exhibition
Prepared in historic interiors, the exhibition introduces visitors to the colourful and interesting history of the city and the region. The host and guide through the history of Tarnów is a catarina player playing on his instrument a melody which has not been heard for a long time. Following the path marked by the perforated tape of the organ, which contains numerous curiosities, you can find yourself in successive rooms, where the most interesting and valuable objects from the collection of the Tarnów Museum are displayed. In the ‘Under the Eagle’ room, visitors can see parchment documents of exceptional value, and medieval swords in the armoury. Passing through atmospheric cellars, we will get to prehistoric times, visit a guild inn, find ourselves in a tram, through whose windows we will be able to see the old Tarnów, we will also move to the times of the Second World War and communist Poland. The top floor of the exhibition shows buildings and prominent figures characteristic of the city. There are also references to the multi-faith past of Tarnów. The history of the city is presented ‘in a multimedia nutshell’.
