Sindelfingen (plaque)
Description of commemoration
A large granite plaque with a sandblasted inscription is placed on the wall next to the entrance to the new town hall building in Sindelfingen. The plaque is in German and the inscription starts with a list of those who are known to have died during World War II. Most of those names are the Sinti from the Reinhardt family.

Die Stadt Sindelfingen gedenkt / ihrer Bürgerinnen und Bürger, / die unter nationalsozialistischer Gewaltherrschaft / ermordet wurden // Sie waren Juden / Sie waren Kommunisten / Sie waren Sinti / Sie waren Zeugen Jehovas / Zwölf Menschen wurden als Behinderte getötet / Einige Schicksale bleiben ungeklärt. // Ihr Tod mahnt uns / zu Toleranz und Achtung der Menschenwürde.
Translation:
The city of Sindelfingen commemorates its inhabitants who were murdered under the National Socialist dictatorship. They were Jews. They were communists. They were Sinti. They were Jehovah’s Witnesses. Twelve people were killed as disabled. The fate of some of them remains unknown. Their death reminds us of tolerance and respect for the human person.
